Merit Health Medical Group welcomes Mike Bird, FNP-BC to its Walthall primary care clinic.
A native of Las Cruces, New Mexico, Bird completed prerequisites at Idaho State University before attending New Mexico State University, where he received a bachelor of science in nursing. He received a master of science in nursing from Walden University. He has worked at Merit Health Wesley since 2006, serving as both an emergency department nurse and intensive care nurse. Prior to his work at Merit Health Wesley, he worked as a nurse at Kindred Hospital in Marrero, Louisiana and has worked as a travel nurse throughout the United States.
Bird is a member of the Mississippi Association of Nurse Practitioners and the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. He is certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Basic Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and Trauma Nurse Core Course. He has 20 years of experience in critical care nursing.
Merit Health Medical Group offers specialized care for patients of all ages at the Primary Care location in Tylertown. The clinic specializes in family medicine, providing everything from first immunizations to specialized care plans designed for mature adulthood.
