Merit Health Welcomes Interventional Cardiologist

Hattiesburg, MS - Merit Health Medical Group welcomes Qasim Jehangir, M.D., to its cardiology clinic, located at 5003 Hardy Street on the Merit Health Wesley campus.
He is part of our cardiovascular healthcare team that focuses on the evaluation, prevention, management and treatment of complex cardiovascular conditions, as well as management of chronic conditions. Common conditions treated include coronary artery disease, heart attacks, heart failure, heart valve disease, peripheral artery disease (PAD), chronic chest pain (angina). His interventional and vascular services include cardiac catheterization and coronary stenting, peripheral arterial angiography and interventions and thrombectomy for pulmonary embolism and deep vein thrombosis. His advanced coronary interventions include complex IVUS-guided PCI, atherectomy and intravascular lithotripsy and high-risk PCI with mechanical circulatory support.
Dr. Jehangir completed his fellowship in interventional cardiology at the University of Arizona College of Medicine in Phoenix, AZ. He completed his fellowship in cardiovascular disease at Trinity Health Oakland – Wayne State University in Pontiac, MI. He completed his internal medicine residency at St. Joseph Mercy Oakland Hospital in Pontiac, MI.
