Dr. Geoffrey Flattmann Joins Dr. Christopher Martin in the Practice
NATCHEZ, Miss.– Merit Health Natchez today announced Dr. Geoffrey Flattmann will be joining Dr. Christopher Martin at Merit Health Medical Group General Surgery Clinic, further strengthening access to high-quality surgical care for patients in the community. The merger is scheduled to take place in April.
Dr. Flattmann has been practicing general surgery in Natchez for 25 years, previously seeing patients at Flattmann Surgical Clinic. His deep roots in the community and longstanding commitment to patient care make him a valued addition to the Merit Health Medical Group team.
“After 25 years of providing high quality general and robotic surgical care to this area in my solo private practice, I am excited to join Dr. Martin at the Merit Health Medical Group. This consolidation will allow us to continue to provide 24/7 access to general surgical care for the community that we both call home, and will allow us to continue providing trusted care to the Miss-Lou,” said Dr. Flattmann. “This transition allows us to build on a strong foundation and decades of experience to enhance the services available to our patients.”

Merit Health Medical Group General Surgery provides evaluation and treatment for a wide range of general surgical conditions. The practice offers a variety of surgical procedures, from minimally invasive colon surgery to gallbladder and appendix removal, as well as biopsies, hernia repair, colorectal interventions, thyroid/endocrine procedures, a wide spectrum of surgery for breast cancer, and much more. Drs. Flattmann and Martin also maintain a robust robotic surgery program, unique to a community of this size and only available in the Miss-Lou at Merit Health Natchez.
Merit Health Medical Group General Surgery clinic is scheduled to relocate to the second floor of the Doctors’ Pavilion in April. During this transition, Dr. Flattmann will continue to see patients at his current location, 142 Jeff Davis Blvd., and Dr. Martin will still see patients on the first floor of the Doctor’s Pavilion, 46 Sgt. Prentiss Drive.
