Healthy Habits Summer Camps Offered at Merit Health Wellness Center
5/23/2018
Hattiesburg -- Merit Health Wellness Center invites children ages 5 through 12 to get moving all summer long at Healthy Habits Summer Camps.
“Creating positive habits for lifelong wellness should start at a young age,” said Kevin Weldon, Manager of Merit Health Wellness Center. “It’s our responsibility to teach children how to make exercising and wellness a fun part of their daily activities.”
Offering activities from Zumba and swimming to healthy eating lessons and Kid’s Yoga, children will learn about and put into practice concepts such as drinking water for top body performance, growing healthy muscles, fun ways to exercise every day at home, and how to encourage others to participate in healthy habits, too.
“We believe in a family approach to health and wellness,” said Weldon. “When parents involve their children in activities focused on health, it helps children make health a priority for life, setting them up for long-term success.”
Camp activities include:
- Healthy habits lessons
- Kid’s yoga
- Basketball
- Zumba
- Ping pong
- Step aerobics
- Swimming in the Center’s 25-yard indoor lap pool
Camp dates are June 4 – 8, June 25 – 29, July 9 –13, and July 23 – 27, and each day of camp lasts from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.
